Music improves life in myriad way that you’ll continue to discover for years to come. I want to share the lessons I've learned during my time as a musician and an educator.  More than just the right notes, music is a means to expand the way one thinks about and perceives their world, in order that they may find themselves better prepared for it.

I could not have found a better teacher and better role model for my son.

Javier

Joe has been my son, Javier's, teacher for over 5 years. At the beginning he made drumming fun and exciting to a 12-year-old. All these years later, my son is still enjoying lessons and is eager to meet up each week via Skype. It has been a wonderful experience working with Joe. I could not have found a better teacher and better role model for my son.

Mobility Born of necessity...

Javier has been a long time student of mine and has been an important inspiration for this venture. I originally taught his lessons here in the states, but his family moved to another country which threw a wrench in that.

He wanted to continue lessons and I didn't want to lose one of my favorite students but the distance seemed to offer a hurdle we couldn't clear.

After brain-storming a bit, we decided to give video lessons a try. My assumption was that the lessons would suffer, but in many ways I found it preferable. Teaching is effectively audio/visual and video lessons offer that and more with the ability to share files, send homework, screenshare and more. It changed the dynamic in a way that being in a room with someone didn't allow. In a very real way, the limits of the medium are perfect for clear two-way communication, which facilitates my teaching style and student understanding.
